Mr. Joseph Heath
Athletic Director

Joseph Heath is the Athletic Coordinator at YMLA where he has been since the high school opened in 2014.  He previously worked at Southwest High School where he served as the Head Girls Soccer Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the football program’s only two playoff wins. 

Coach Heath was born in Sioux City, Iowa and was raised in Abilene, TX where he was a four sport athlete and played in the 1996 state championships game.  He started 42 consecutive games, was a two-time all-state football player at Cooper High School, as well as a member of Prepstar’s all southwest region team.  He was also a district champion thrower in Track and Field and a regional finalist in powerlifting.  His interests include psychology, philosophy, and studying the history of horror movies.
